We are a school with a proven record of success and a commitment to continuous improvement. We aspire to be ‘exceptional’ in everything that we do and are constantly reviewing and evaluating provision in all areas to achieve this.

Students are at the centre of everything that we do and one of our key aims is to encourage each child to strive to achieve their very best. We believe that education should be challenging and engaging and we aim to develop within our students a love of learning. We offer a wide range of stimulating experiences within a secure and caring learning environment where each individual child is known and their achievements celebrated.

Examination Success

We have an excellent record of success at ‘A’ Level and GCSE and every year celebrate some outstanding individual successes.

Just like OFSTED we take a three year view and over this period our average performance has been;

98.5% pass rate for ‘A’ level with 47% of grades at A*, A or B.’

83% of students gaining 5 or more GCSE passes at A*-C with 63% achieving 5A*-C including English and Maths.

Student Support

We are proud of our established reputation as a successful, welcoming and caring school.

As soon as we know which students will be joining us, we begin a comprehensive transition programme to support our Year 7 students as they move into secondary school. This includes visits to primary schools, masterclasses and a two-day induction during the summer term.

Students in all year groups have access to a dedicated team of Personal Tutors and specialist support staff who work to ensure that every child has the advice and guidance they need to fulfil their potential.

Personalised Learning

In all of our work we seek to recognise and support individual student needs and provide a personalised learning experience for every child. We are proud of our reputation for excellent examination results and of our tradition for developing young people who have the qualifications, skills and confidence to succeed in the 21^st Century.

We offer a wide range of high quality academic and vocational courses to enable all students to maximise their chances of success including ‘A’ Level, GCSE and vocational options. Our talented team of specialist staff encourage students to develop as independent learners and actively involve them in improving their learning further.

Sixth Form

We offer a wide range of Advanced Level and BTEC courses through our Post-16 collaboration with Ellowes Hall and Edgecliff Schools. Talented, specialist teachers, small group sizes and personalised learning are fundamental to our success and ensure that each student has the support and challenge needed to fulfil their potential.

All students receive regular academic mentoring from their Personal Tutor and are given comprehensive advice and guidance about careers and university applications.
