Years 10 and 11
In Years 10 and 11 we focus on ensuring there is adequate time for the study of the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. All students study both English Language and English Literature and will sit GCSE exams in both subjects at the end of Year 11. Students in Science follow one of two pathways that cater for the needs of different abilities. We offer triple science for our most able scientists along with the more traditional double science pathway for all other students. All students will continue to study the Humanities subject they chose in Year 9 and most students will continue to study the modern language that they chose.
Years 10 and 11 offer students a greater degree of flexibility and choice within pathways that will support them in achieving examination success. These range from a combination of subject choices that will allow students to attain the English Baccalaureate measure, to a core pathway that encourages students to follow a programme that allows more time to study the key subjects of English and Maths.
In addition to the subjects offered in Years 7, 8 and 9, the options pool also includes; Business Studies, Food and Nutrition, Product Design, Health and Social Care, Performing Arts and Digital Media.
|*C4L in Years 10/11 is delivered through a programme of days ‘off timetable’ and enables students to learn, experience and reflect on key areas that support their personal and social education, well-being, preparation for exams and careers.|
