We have once again managed to secure a contract with Kingswinford Coaches for outer district pupils and have added a new route using Ounsdale’s school minibus which will be fully administered by the school. Details of these routes are shown below (ROUTE OUNSDALE 001 & ROUTE 002).  Route 001 is a 49 seater coach and Route 002 is a 14 seater minibus, therefore, the only way that we can offer this service is on a first come first served basis.

Please note that Staffordshire Authority provides transport to those students residing within Staffordshire.

Route 002 is an additional route for 2014 – 15 for pupils residing in the Milking Bank area. These pupils will be collected by Ounsdale High School’s Minibus.

Cost for Academic School Year September 2014 – July 2015:

Pupils aged 11 – 18 Annual payment £350
First payment to reach us by 1st July 2014 £175
Second payment to reach us by 5th December 2014 £175

Charges are payable in advance by cheque (payable to Staffordshire County Council).  Should you wish to pay by cash then I would ask you to telephone Julie Smith, Finance Officer on 01902 891705 to make suitable arrangements.  You are most welcome to come into the school to make payment or alternatively return your application form and cheque in the envelope enclosed.

The application form together with your payment should be returned by no later than 1st July 2014 together with two passport size photographs of your child (Please ensure student name and date of birth are printed on the reverse).  Once in receipt of your payment and photographs an Ounsdale School  travel pass and your receipt will be sent to your home address by post to enable your child to travel from the start of the Autumn Term.

Where a pupil does not use the transport for part of a term (illness, holiday etc.), refunds cannot be made.  If you withdraw your application after your payment has been received or you return your pass at any time for a refund, a £10 administration charge will be made. If a student loses their pass then an admin charge of £5 will be incurred.


Transport is provided in the expectation that pupils will behave appropriately on the coach and not otherwise abuse the rules governing the provision of transport.  The school operates a ‘No pass, No travel’ system.  Students must carry and show their pass on each journey.  Students without a valid pass will be refused access to School transport.  The school may withdraw travel passes where a students’ behaviour has created a safety hazard or amounts to a persistent or serious abuse of the system. SAFETY BELTS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
